Michael,

A large firm that I'm not allowed to divulge has expressed an interest in

Are your revenues based on the books that you sell, leads for which came via
newsletters?

I'm thinking about offering nothing up front with a figure somehow tied to
sales that come from the newsletters for one year. In other words, I'll
take over publishing the newsletter that, let's say has 5,000 subscribers.
During the course of the year I drive it to 10,000 which, for simplicity's
sake, averages to 7,500 suscribers over the course of the year.

So, based on that ratio (5:7.5), two-thirds of all sales driven by the
newsletter came from the original list subscribers (assuming no fallout). .
. I'd then pay an agreed "royalty" on two-thirds of the sales.

Make sense?

Thanks, regards, and adios,
