[epub] Re: A Question
From: "R.G. Ramsey" <barters@mindspring.com>

You certainly can't spend an exorbitant amount of time
obsessing over the theft of one of your articles, but on
the other hand, if we continue to remain silent and take
it on the chin - where is that going to lead ultimately?

If you see credit given to an article that you wrote,
you're gonna get hot!

Articles are the #1 form of free promotion! They add needed
credibility to your business and reputation.

You can't buy it, it's something you have to earn, and
it's earned with your knowledge.

Sure, it p!#sses you off to have some lazy jerk just copy
and paste and stick his blurb at the end of it. And as
has been mentioned before, even some of the big names
do it!

The only way it's going to be curtailed is to confront
the offenders and post the names. Now there's an idea
for a list or web site :)

Everyone seems reluctant to mention names - LAW SUIT...

Now there's a scary thought. NOT! First of all, the thief
is not a successful individual, otherwise they wouldn't
be stealing articles in the first place. They'd be
knowledgeable enough to write their own. Very doubtful
that a lawsuit would result.

Articles aren't stolen by accident. It's deliberate, so
confrontation and consequences should be deliberate too!

Demand an apology from the offender and contact the
Publisher of the newsletter that published the article.
That Publisher should be willing to run the apology.
I certainly would.

If the offender refuses, post his/her name. Be sure you
have proof.
