We don't send out an invoice.  I send each advertiser an email notifying
them that we've receive their payment and what issue their ad will be
appearing in.

If someone asked me for an invoice, I would have no problem giving them
one.  But if they asked me to get it notarized, it probably would not be
worth my time.  It would require taking my 2 year old with me and pay the
notary - so it would not only be an inconvience, it would be an additional
expense.
