[epub] Original content, and large number of ezines

I've followed these two threads with a lot of interest. One thing that 
I've noticed, is that while the questions raised often anticipate a 
'black and white' answer, the answers themselves tend to contain many 
'shades of grey'.

It is easy to be an advocate of all-original material. That has its 
parallel in the offline world in a newsletter- one organization, one 
theme, one writer. One can also advocate a mixture of original, and 
reprinted material- which is what I use in my Ezine. This has its 
parallel in the offline world in many successful magazines. At the 
other end of the scale, it's hard to argue that a small outfit 
called Reader's Digest don't do well with all-reprinted material!

I guess an answer to the question of the make up of your content, 
AND the question of the rapidly-expanding number of ezines have a 
common answer. Time and the market will decided! Publishers will 
drop by the wayside for any number of reasons. Their ezine will 
fail; they will get bored and develop another enthusiasm; they will 
sell out, and so on. On the subject of content, the readers will 
decide. The unsubscribe option is the ultimate in democracy!

Keep up the good work, everyone. You ARE making a worthwhile 
contribution to people's lives.
