I can't remember if I've introduced myself or not to this list so here's a
brief intro.  I am an artist and writer who moderates one email list.  You
can find me at the links in my signature line.

I am using ONElist and have been satisfied with it so far and I really like
their new design. I approve subscriptions to my list but at this point have
not felt the need to approve every message that is sent.  We're rather
focused in what we are doing and unless I get a crazy on the list I don't
think I'll have a problem.

I'm sort of doing the opposite of what you are doing.  I started with my
email list writing group and am now finding that there is interest in the
group -- and with myself -- at the possibility of starting an ezine based on
the group's interests, writings, and my own interests and writings.

I'm more than willing to start an ezine that would be a forum of
"publication" for my group and others but personally, I would like for it to
be a little bit profitable for myself.  Hope that doesn't sound too selfish
or monetary.  Anyway, my question is this, do free ezines make their profit
(if there is a profit) from advertisers? If so, how do I go about getting
the "right" kind of advertisers for my ezine?  If this has been covered
previously, please forgive and point me to the archives or the correct
articles.
