RE: [epub] AddMe Newsletter - How Accurate?
From: "Eva Almeida" <admin@healthandmoneytips.com>

Hi David,

To be honest, I couldn't agree more with you!

I have received numerous newsletters from
places I never even knew existed presumably
from some advertising I had done somewhere.

I am with you on building up a quality and
targeted subscriber base...thanks for pointing
that out.

By the way, great to hear from a long time
lurker. I hope that you will keep contributing
your opinions and suggestions in the future!

Hi Eva

This is my first ever posting to this list (I've been "lurking" for months
<g>)

>>I could be wrong but I bet that they add the
email address of everyone who uses their free
service to their newsletter (as a condition
to using their "free" services).<<

I've got to say that this is not how a subscriber list should be built
IMHO. As far as I'm concerned, newsletters should be totally opt-in
following someone's request, ie an active request on the part of the
subscriber. I would rather have an ezine with a list of 6,000 people who
actually asked to receive it than one of 50,000 people who didn't have any
choice in the matter. At least the 6,000 will read the ezine, who knows how
 many of the 50,000 will?

One thing that is guaranteed to make me unsubscribe from an ezine is one
that says "you received this ezine because you subscribed....or you posted
a link at my FFA page...or you have written to me in the past....."

Or presumably because there is a "y" in the day. <g>
