Hey all;

After seeing the various posts about spamming, I have to relate my
experience this past Friday. After a brief stint offline, about an hour,
I logged back on to check my mail and orders. When I didn't have any
mail it made me suspect our ecommerce site was down since we continually
get orders, questions and email constantly. When I went to our site it
said "This account has been disabled" contact blah, blah, blah.

Imagine my horror, ironically as it turned out there was no spam
complaint, but of course I immediately thought that might have been the
problem even though I too have a very strong stance against spam, even
up to this day my host has yet to explain what happened. It took 5 hours
of calling tech support and email, (I have 2 hosts for this very reason)
to get the site back online. Ironically I even had a credit balance owed
to me by my host as well. Talk about adding fuel to the fire. We also
lost several hundred dollars during this downtime as well, based on our
average hourly sales volume. Do I get any recompensation for something
that can't even be explained to me....certainly NOT!

Great for the reputation for your customers to be greeted by such a
screen. Due to this I am now setting up a web server in our office to
host our 17 domains, I'm tired of being at the ISP's and Hosting
Service's mercy. IF once the server is setup and all is running well
with my domains, then I am considering offering hosting service to other
marketers with the statement of "Innocent until proven guilty". Of
course this is down the road if I decide to offer such a service.

Anyway enough of my ranting, but why doesn't any service providers take
the stance of beleiving their own customers first, instead of random
complaints by an outsider?

Why don't they have an "innocent until proven guilty" policy instead of
guilty until you prove you are innocent?

Any comments?

Thanks;
