I have been sending out a weekly email newsletter for over 5 years. I
started with Compuserve and switched to Eudora 3 years ago. I have over
2,000 subscribers. No problems except I have to spend time entering in
email addresses and names.

Since I started my web site in Jan, 1999, I have been getting about 5 new
email subscribers a day and am thinking about using another mailing
program. Any ideas? You can check out my web site below to see how I
encourage the email signups. I do my own site in FrontPage. 

My income comes from my print publication at $99 per year. The emails
supplement the print newsletter plus every one is an ad for my paper
newsletter! I am just starting to get email ads at $300 per email newsletter. 

By the way, the "freebie" services like onelist have limits on the number
of subscribers and listserv/majordomo are a real hassle for the subscribers
to subscribe and unsubscribe unless you have a place set up on your website.
