Re: [epub] Press Release questions
From: Cathy Stucker <cstucker@flash.net>

Julie, you don't have to cite the press release in the story, although you
may name the source. That is, you might say, "The Acme Company has
announced a new product . . ." but not "A press release from the Acme
Company announces . . ."

Yes, you can copy entire sentences from the release. In fact, I've had
media reproduce some of my press releases verbatim, rather than incorporate
the information in a story they write. That's fine with me--at least I
know they'll get it right that way! ;o)

I send a lot of releases for myself and my clients, and they get varying
responses. Sometimes the media will excerpt portions of the release, other
times they print the whole thing, and sometimes they will use the
information as the basis for a story. Another possibility is that the
release piques their interest and they call for an interview.

Anyway, hope this answers your questions.
