EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread][epub] RE: Comments on Pub. Frequency
From: TDSSEnt2@aol.com Dear Danlin, In a message dated 99-11-20 14:16:15 EST, you write: << My experience as a reader is, an exact publishing date is not necessary, but newsletters published less frequently than byweekly (ideal is weekly or more frequently) are useless.>> I find it hard to believe that just because a newsletter is published bi-monthly or monthly that it is "useless" to you or any other reader. <<Those are the newsletters I can't remember when I say "about 8". I don't remember the author's name, his style, sense of humour, the whole personalization thing doesn't work. And if I am too busy, I will delete those newsletters first. >> I can relate to being busy, and at times not having the time to read all e-zines you subscribe to. However, I can't relate to your deleting a high quality publication simply because they are a "Monthly" or "Bi-monthly". As far as not remembering the authors, their personalities etc... Do you subscribe to, or have you ever heard of these publications and/or their authors? "BizWeb E-Gazette" by Jim Daniels "Profit Pill e-zine" by Michel Fortin "Website Success Monthly" by Lisa Schmeckpeper "Referrals Unlimited!" by Wanda Loskot "I-PR Digest" by Adam Sherk "Merle's Mission Newsletter" & "MC Promotions" by Merle. These are just a few fine publications that are published bi-monthly or monthly by well known authors. These individuals do work hard to promote their publications and businesses by contributing articles/comments on popular forums & e-zines. And, this does enable them to gain the notoriety they deserve, but it does not change the fact that they publish their own newsletters within your "deleted" time frame. Lastly, even a virtual unknown can spark a chord with his/her readers through well planned and articulate writing. Those too are authors whom you will remember by style...not by publication frequency. I understand that with the e-zine craze in full force, you must be selective with your "subscriptions". However, with all due respect to your opinion, I must agree to disagree with your comments.
