if you really must handle mailing list administration on your own, 
you can go with Pegasus, which is FREE! and has a strong 
reputation for handling mailing lists (www.pegasus.com), or try the 
Aureate Group Mail (wwww.aureate.com) -- it will handle multiple 
mailing lists, and has a plug in for handling subs/unsubs. 

Personally I use onelist.com for my mailings, although I may go 
with Aureate in the future.
