Re: [epub] Aureate
From: Success Solutions <webmaster@successsolutions.com>

Hello Doug and fellow list members!

I have been using Aureate (paid version) for almost 6 months now.
Although I do handle the unsubscribes/subscribes by hand, it
does allow me to see what emails bounce back so that I can
determine whether to delete them from my list.

I decided that I wanted to keep my list "clean" so I unsubscribe
all emails that return to me because of autoresponders and
"mailbox full". Being able to see the emails that come back
also allows me to remove those email addresses that are bad.

The majority of bad addresses I get are from the free email
services such as hotmail, yahoo and to a lesser degree usa.net

I also use Aureate group mail to send out my email confirmations
to those who post their website link on 2 of my FFA sites. Just
for the record, I don't ever subscribe these to my newsletter just
because they post on my FFA sites. I have noticed that many
publishers do this, even some of the "big ones". I would much
rather simply send my confirmation emails that include a short
ad advertising my newsletter. This way if they want to subscribe
they can, and I have an email copy of their request to be subscribed.
(Incase any opt-in subscriber forgets they subscribed and wants
to yell "spam".)

The only time Aureate errored out was when the total number of
email addresses in all 2 dozen seperate lists I have in Aureate
exceeded 50,000. When I say "errored out" I mean that an
error window popped up when I tried to import more addresses.
I simply removed a couple of old lists and restarted the software.

I hope this helps!
