Kim, I don't think many E-pubbers would like being told they're
"preying on newbies" - or even if they indeed are !

It is true that much of the information that is being charged for
online today can be found for free on other sites.  But it is also
true that it is NOT always easy to find that "free" info.  Or indeed
interpret it the right way.  

The Web has thrown up many new business models, one of
which is the "value-adding middleman".  This person knows,
or can find out, details and information that is valuable to
others, and charges cold cash for that expertise.  In a sense,
E-publishers are one form of this new breed - I'll call them
INFO-MEDIARIES  :-)

You could read about heart surgery in a medicine textbook.  But
when you need bypass surgery , I sure hope you're going to come
 to me (and pay me for it ! !!!) instead of trying to do it yourself - for
free !!!  <grin>
