I think she means virtual server and actual server.

The actual server is the physical one (PC)
used by the hosting company, it is a computer
configured as a server.

The virtual server:

some hosting services offer the option of
having your own virtual server, which means
you have complete control on the server
as if it was an actual one, although it is
not, soyou can configuer it as you please
without using tech support from the hosting
service, or seeking their permission.
