Actually, not so strange.  Many list hosting companies or sophisticated email
distribution programs automatically unsubscribe bounce-backs.  When your hosting
company was down, your email was sent back to the newsletters and they
interpreted the bounce-back as evidence that you had canceled or otherwise moved
on.  Hence the automatic unsubscribe.
