Problem is, what I didn't do, was think about what I was doing. Several ppl
signed up to my list, before I realised I didn't make enough updates to
warrant an e-zine listing updates to my website. I also had virtually no
content - it would have run out after the first or second issue most
probably.
So wanting to learn more about one chosen subject first (music and
broadcasting now), and not wanting to waste a lot of ppl's time filling in
signup boxed to join my list, I stopped advertising the e-zine thru the
places that I was getting subscribers (this list mostly).
To you though, I would say - yes - advertise now. The more people you can
get interested, the better.
If you wait until you've launched it, then look for subscribers, you'll be
writing an e-zine that nobody will be reading for a while.
If I were you, I'd advertise in the free places until you have the thing
closer to up and running, and then just before you release the first e-zine,
go for the methods that cost money.
