Got an Ezine Marketing |
EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread]Re: [epub] Perspectives on Growth
From: Eva Almeida <admin@ebooksnbytes.com> Hi Melissa, First of all, I wanted to give you a warm welcome to this list! >Let me first say that I've only been in the group for a couple of days and >am impressed with you all. My experience with em discussion groups in the >past has been that they are more blatant attempts at advertisement than >helpful group interactions. This group is definitely different and I'm so >glad I found you all! Yes, I definitely agree and I think it is the best ezine publisher list that I have personally found. Period. I wanted to thank everyone who sent me information on ezine directories (despite the fact that my subject line was wrong and had asked for ebook articles... thankfully, the epublishers read my post and answered my post for ezine directories.) > >Secondly -- of couse -- I could use some help. I've launched a new website >and weekly e-zine. Both the site and the 'zine are new - so my hits and >subscriber #s are low. That's okay. I understand that time and patience >are required. Yes, I remember when I first published, The Marketing Edge Tip-Zine over a year ago with maybe 25 or so subscribers to start off with. I still treated it as if it were thousands and tried to create a quality ezine. I haven't actively promoted it and it has grown mostly through joint ventures with other publishers to 1400 subscribers. It may not seem like a lot to the other publishers on this list, but since it is in a very competitive category (internet marketing) and I haven't promoted it actively... I think it is doing well. On the other hand, I just created a new ezine too, Melissa, on ebook publishing. Since it is a more targeted ezine with less competition, I received over 60 subscribers just from announcing it to my other ezine and one ebook-list in 2 days... A much faster growth rate than my previous ezine. >What I'm curious to know - from some more experienced publishers - is what >kind of growth rate you've experienced over time. (Yes, I know everyone is >different. It depends on market, effort, etc...) I would, however, love to >have some basic perspective from those who've been there before. The growth rate depends upon so many factors, but I do notice that it is definitely slower if you don't actively promote it. My subscriber rate increased when I placed a subscriber form from http://www.ezinesolutions.com on each page of my sites as well as joint ventured with other publishers (sharing contests... mentioning each other in welcome emails and thank you pages.) Now, I receive between 5 to 10 new subscribers daily (with few unsubscribes) instead of the rate last year of 1 or 2 every other day. Good luck with your new ezine!
