Hi, 
This is the first time  I say asomething in this list. I run the weekly
e-zine from a project and just wanted to tell you that banners are usefull
in a different way text is, of course. But we have had a lot of success with
the banner for people to sign the Manifesto 2000
http://www.barcelona2004.org/manif2k/sp/p1.html however it is only available
in Sapnish and Cataln (as we are suposed to collect signatures on behalf on
the city of Barcelona) Banners are really cheap to produce and we get a lot
of visits back and thus signatures. 

/The only thinng is tat we are a non-profit org and we mesure us with visits
