[epub] Mail Management Software..Was - formatting for even line breaks

Info@red25 asked what software we used at FoodWeb to manage our mailing
list. After several false starts we finally settled in on Subscribe Me
Professional from CGIScript Center. (http://www.cgiscriptcenter.com)

There are two versions available, one freeware and one commercial (the Pro
version). We used the free version for a while before upgrading for $149.00.
In my opinion this was money very well spent. The program rocks and support
is unbelievable, free upgrades to registered owners.

This program allows you to maintain more than one list, so it's great for
publishers with multiple lists. But the best part is a feature which allows
us to track an advertisers response rate. We simply add a code (page=) and
the program inserts tracking code. When a recipient of the email clicks on
the link it takes them to the SubPro program on our server, registers the
click and immediately redirects them to the advertiser's site. It's sop fast
they never know it happens. Very, very slick.

I don't make a penny from extolling the virtues of this program. I do it
because excellence deserves recognition. Diran and his staff are certainly
that if not more.

What e-mail management program do you use?

At FoodWeb we solved this problem by writing our newsletter in Microsoft
Word and save normally. We use the fixed width Courier font to make it easy
to read and edit. When we are ready to send the issue out we do a final
edit/proof, set the margins to 70 characters and "save as" text only with
line breaks. Use the show paragraphs to confirm the line length and breaks.

At this point all we need do is a copy and paste into our email management
program and send it on its way.

By the way, we use Subscibe Me Pro from the CGI-ScriptCenter which we highly
recommend. You can find it at http://www.cgiscriptcenter.com.
