[epub] RE: Free services: many advantages but looks little unprofessional

Exactly what is meant by €  ’±looks a little
unprofessional' - by what standard?

When it comes to ezines - the secret is CONTENT
CONTENT CONTENT.  Content is vastly more important
than delivery.  Both in E-world and dirt world.

I get brochures from hotels that are four color ink on
expensive heavy paper stock - look professional as
heck - they are free and I throw them away.

But I pay money for a newspaper printed on some of the
cheapest paper around and get ink on my hands. Some
guy in jeans and a t-shirt drives by every morning in
a ratty car and throws it at my stoop - I don't think
I would be more impressed if he wore a tie and drove a
BMW and looked €  ’±more professional'.

I subscribe to 20 ezines and right now off the top of
my head, if I think of them one-by-one I don't know
which ones use a free list server or not, but I can
mentally think 'that's a damn good one - it would be
one of the last ones I would give up' and then there
are 'a few more pretty good ones but probably could
live without them' and now I think about it there are
a couple I'm gonna unsusubscribe to after posting
this.
