Front Page extensions function similar to CGI scripts and sometimes some SSI
as well.  In order for them to work on your FrontPage  Web site, the FP
extensions must be loaded in your domain.  Once you have published your
extensions pages to your domain, you can use a regular FTP to maintain or
update the site if you want (I've done that with several FP sites)

in my experience, FrontPage hosting is equal to or even LESS than regular
NT/Unix hosting.  Most NT hosts include FP for free, since they work best
together.   My Unix host also included FP extensions for free.
