Hi everybody

That's one use. The problem with this use, is if you ever were to
FTP pages as well. If you FTP up pages with bots on them, you'd
mess up your web, and parts of it won't work (is that what
happened to our original poster?). They say you can't ever FTP
pages to a Frontpage web. That's not entirely correct. You can get
away with it if you REALLY know what you're doing (I did a long
time ago - didn't break my web!).

The problem with using Frontpage for uploading is that you have no
control over the process (97 version, haven't tried it since). I think
it's a nightmare compared to FTP.

If you're going to use FTP, you'll need a CGI bin instead of
Frontpage extensions. A completely different ball game. You can
get away with using a good FTP program only, but I usually end up
mucking around within the operating system.

Depends on the host. Usually you have to choose between CGI
and Frontpage extensions. Some switch them for free, others
charge you for switching.

My 2 kroner (I'm Norwegian).
