[epub] Instead of simple listserver, consider a web based email system
You only really need a list server if you are
publishing an ezine and have daily subs and unsubs to
deal with to deal with. If that is not an issue, you
might want to think about a free email service like
Yahoo and use the bcc feature. Also, with Yahoo, you
can create sub groups to send to - send just to your
publishers or just to your clients, or just to your
publishers in New York City or just to your clients is
the PST time zone etc. I have a list of 250 I use
Yahoo for.

I don't like my current list server, egroups, but
haven't had time to research a new server.
They add html ads to every post. I don't mind ads -
it's a free service, that's how they make their money.
But when I signed up with ONElist, (Which egroups
just recently took over) they had text ads.

But html ads are a pain. They more than DOUBLE the
size of your message. I just sent out two ezines over
the weekend. My 13k ezine was turned into a 32k
message after one single html ad was added. The second
ezine of 17k was turned into a 41k message. Hard to
believe isn't it!?

Other advantages of a web based system:

You can access it and send from any computer. Not
always true with list servers.
You will receive virtually no spam - I get maybe 2- 3
month (and then I always check the headers with
Spamcop and then the report them to their ISP wiht
glee).
Fear of email viruses goes down since most viruses
are (not all) are aimed at Microsoft software to take
advantage of the many bugs.

Cantu,
PS: If any readers use egroups and want to test this
 - the next ezine you send out your ezine, send a bcc
copy to yourself and see the difference between that
and the egroups post with the html ad.
