I send Two Scoops out daily to my list, which is hosted at egroups.com.
I send it out in plaintext from my computer, not RTF or HTML. Maybe that's 
why you're seeing a graphic banner ad instead of a text ad. I don't look down the message that far, but I think the only ads placed in mine are text 
ads.  I just look at this morning's mailing and there were NO ads in it 
today.  
Hmmmm...

I think somewhere in the set-up at egroups.com you determine how your 
messages are sent out, which will (?) determine whether you get banner 
ads or text ads

I find any ads intrusive, but they pay for the egroups service, so I 
can't complain much.
