I know what you mean - I set up a music-related list on egroups, 
and that was the first thing I noticed. Although you can 
individually turn this off, it's such a pain, to make everyone 
on the list go and change their setting to receive it in plain 
text. Do they realise how much hassle moderators will get from 
AOL users - as if they don't get enough already - people 
constantly going - "why does my email look funny?"
