The easiest way to suppress SPAM is to filter all mail that 
doesn't have your name in the TO: box. If you don't have a 
way to address each message individually, there's a good 
chance at least some of your list is trashing your zine 
without reading it.

Cgiresources.com has a decent selection of free CGI scripts 
for automating mailings. Aspin.com has a similar list for ASP. 
If you don't want to deal with any of that, I'd suggest you ask 
your host to set up a list for you, and if they won't, find a 
host that will. I've been looking for a web/list host for a while,
and a couple that will do it off the top of my head are 
westhost.com and communitech.com. Also check with Esosoft.com -- 
for a while they were doing lists under 2500 (MajorDomo)for $5 
per month or some such thing. I don't work for these companies 
or benefit from this comment in any way.
