Tina,

Though Windows is the dominant platform, I continue to agree with
experienced ebook creators like Ken Evoy and Marty Foley who both
think the Adobe PDF format is the way to go. Why discourage Mac
users or force people to have enormous Internet Explorer on their
systems?

I think Adobe PDF is mentioned briefly in the very *excellent* and free
InfoProduct Masters Course you can get here:

mailto:timclearnhow2@sitesell.net

It's is the format used for the bibles of website selling techniques
and the newer bible of Info Product creation. My links to these
excellent (and inexpensive... $17 and $47, respectively) resources are:

http://reportsearch.com/cgi-bin/report.cgi?t=sitesell
http://reportsearch.com/cgi-bin/report.cgi?t=knowledge

There are other resources mentioned in Make Your Knowledge Sell
for free e-book creation, as well. Every one has heard of these, but
my motto on these is: Don't Let the Price Fool Ya...

They're the "American Express" of online *no* one should be selling
on the web without them.

That said:

I understand that if you are just starting out, you
don't want to spend a lot of money...especially if you are only
creating one or two products to start with. Here's a solution:

Unbeknownst to many, you can create PDF documents online and
Adobe gives you a free trial here. The service is $9.99 per month but
you can convert 3 documents for free. That will give you 3 ebooks to
sell that can be used by anyone regardless of browser or platform
(even UNIX users can get Acrobat Reader for free):

http://createpdf.adobe.com

The cool thing is that you can convert so many different document
types *including* existing webpages and HTML files. If you've already
created a website full of info, this is a great way to easily create a
low cost or free product to distribute to people on your site.

And because its cross-platform and becoming ubiquitous (e-book
sites like Fatbrain use only PDF) you have a viral-marketing tool
that doesn't get "stuck" when its passed on to someone that
has a Mac or only Navigator installed on their systems. (I find
that people like the idea of getting to download Acrobat Reader
for free because its small and seems valuable).

On my own site, we'll be moving towards all PDF for paid products,
as well. They're just more consistent, easier to work with, etc.

Hope this helps,
angel williams
