I don't do solo mailings to my list (personal preference), but to each his 
own. I too hit delete, but I have no problem with someone trying to make an 
honest living by sending them.

I honestly believe that if you are providing information that your readers 
find valuable, you can absolutely profit off the list at the same time. I 
am here to educate and help, but equally as important, to put food on my 
family's table. You are either in business or not, don't fool yourself. 
There is no shame in providing a service and getting paid for it.

I could be considered an "aggressive marketer" by some. If you read my 
newsletter, you will see 25% rock solid information, and 75% advertising. I 
publish 7 days a week, with an extra edition once or twice a month. Yet I 
have what I feel is a VERY low Unsub rate of 5-7 daily (interestingly, it's 
the same at 6,390 readers that I had at 639 readers.) and grow by 10-30 a 
day minimum.

By publishing this much, it makes for a strong list. I have very very few 
unsubs from people that have been with me longer than a month. By 
publishing so frequently, and marketing so much, it does weed out the 
people who are most likely never going to do anything anyway.

People will stay with you (and buy from you) if you offer them value. Most 
of my list trusts me, and the list is directly responsible for me making 
well over $100,000 a year Online. I don't say that to brag - I am thrilled 
to death : - )))

If all I did was educate and not promote my products and services, I would 
still be driving a truck for a living!
