[epub] E-publishing virgin requests some advice.
LO,
My name is Eric Graudins, and I am from Hobart, Tasmania.
I'd like to describe my situation, and then ask a couple of questions.

I an about to embark on the frequently touted path of getting some
additional traffic to my website by submitting articles to newsletters,
perhaps setting up a forum, produce an e-book etc. which will attract
people, and then they'll see our game, yadda, yadda, yadda, etc. You know
the story.

My situation is a bit different to most people, as I have got a unique
actual product that I have invented and am selling. It is a fun,
non-computer game which people of all ages can play together.

During the course of setting up my website, I've learned a lot about
putting together all the necessary "building blocks" required for an
ecommerce site. As a personal challenge, I've tried to do it as
inexpensively and as effectively as possible and my previous experience as
a network administrator was quite useful in doing this.

I'm currently preparing my first article, which makes people realise that
their web hosting company usually has far more power over their domain name
than they do themselves.

The article will show people how to take full control over their domain
names, and be able to change hosting companies and ISP's almost instantly.
They will also get many features that they don't have now. And they can set
it up for free.

This will eliminate all the lost emails, error messages, and grief when
your website bites the dust due to technical problems or overloading at
your hosting company. All you have to do is open an account at another
hosting company, (free or paid), upload your site, and change your domain
pointers.
Instantly, your clients go to the new site, and old hosting company is
completely out of the picture

OK, I've raved on long enough. Time for the questions.

1. This particular topic ain't rocket science, and merely involves taking
over the DNS management of your domain name. Would it be of interest to the
people who own domains?

2. I want to get pretty wide coverage with my articles. Some newsletters
accept only submissions that have not been published anywhere else.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this?

2. If my article is published under the proviso that it hasn't been
published anywhere before, does this prevent me from having it published in
other newsletters afterwards?

3. Is anyone aware of a current newsletter, website, or forum which is
oriented towards all the issues involved in putting together an economical
commerce website from scratch? I don't really want to spend the time doing
this if the topic is adequately covered.

4. Where is the best place to submit an article so that it will be picked
up by publishers.
I've joined www.ideamarketers.com which provides this service.

Are these types of sites effective, or is it best to contact the newsletter
publishers directly.

5. Has anyone got some other pearls of wisdom they would like to share with me?

Thanks for listening.
I look forward to some guidance, and also to helping out other members of
this forum when a question comes up which relates to my areas of expertise.

Regards,
Eric G.
