What is the current >CPM for advertising in e-newsletters? Hi John: You'll get a lot of varied responses to this one. At the end of it all, you'll probably think the answer is of the "how long is a piece of string?" variety. For what it's worth, I charge $5 CPM for classifieds and $20 CPM for exclusive mailings. I run 12 paid classifieds an issue and don't differentiate on price as between positions (other than the top sponsor spot). I run my ads in pairs which are spread throughout the content of a long ezine. I have a relatively targeted group (home-based business entrepreneurs) of 5,000. Some publishers will charge more than this CPM, some less. As a general rule, the more general the list (ie the less targeted the subscriber base), the lower the $CPM and vice versa. Again, though, there are exceptions ... just how long IS a piece of string anyway? Good luck on finding your magic number.
