The legal term you're thinking of is defamation by libel.

If the "offender's" name is published here then, taken together
with Sandy's previous comments about this person and her
experiences with him which were also published here, she could
potentially expose herself (and possibly also the list owner who
is arguably the publisher of the defamatory content) to an action
by the offender for defamation.

(Libel is defamation that occurs as a result of something that
is published in writing; slander is defamation that occurs as a
result of something that is spoken.)

A good rule of thumb in this area is "if in doubt, leave it out".
