EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread][epub] Article Submission
Hi, I'm new to the list and don't know if this is on topic or not (I hope it is because it's important). Recently I have had reason to examine my own behavior as an ezine editor and writer. I had need to send out a few new articles to other ezine editors (about 40 ezines in total). Out of the forty editors I contacted only 5 responded to me. Now I'm not bothered if the other 35 weren't interested in my articles, heck that's just part of life. What does bother me is the fact that the other 35 couldn't be bothered to let me know one way or the other if they were intending to run my article or not. It is common decency to reply to people who go to all the bother of emailing you their article, even if it's to say thanks but no thanks. Those editors who did not reply to me in any way what so ever have left a negative impression on me. I will have to think twice before doing business with them ever. I know your going to say that editors are just to busy to answer every email they receive. Well maybe so, if they have 200,000 subscribers, but that didn't stop one lady editor I know of from replying to me and even giving me some good advice. Even an autoresponse is better than nothing, at least the submitters would know their article reached you, right? What I'm trying to say is, if you value your ezine and more importantly the business it bring in for you then reply to people who go out of their way to help you. Simple, straight forward good business tactics. Just because your publishing on the internet, doesn't mean that you can be ignorant or that you'll loose business because of it.
