EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread][epub] Why can't people reply to say 'No don't want article'?
"Dale" <webmaster@allthings-4u.com> wrote <SNIP> that's just part of life. What does bother me is the fact that the other 35 couldn't be bothered to let me know one way or the other if they were intending to run my article or not. It is common decency to reply to people who go to all the bother of emailing you their article, even if it's to say thanks but no thanks. Cantu says, I don't have enough time now to do everything I need to do now. If someone I don't know, leaves me a voice mail message about a product/service I didn't ask for information about and have no need for and the caller expects me to expend my valuable time to return the call to say I don't want it, I don't need it, well . . . If someone I don't know, sends me bulk mail about a product/service I didn't ask for information about and have no need for and the mailer expects me to expend my valuable time to write back to say I don't want it, I don't need it well . . . So if someone I don't know, emails me something I didn't ask for and have no need for and expects me to expend my valuable time to email back to say I don't want it, I don't need it well . . . No answer IS an answer. Also, when one submits an article somewhere one tend to be egocentric about it in the sense that one thinks only of that article and the place submitted to. From the sender's point of view, there is no other reality. From the receiver's point it is just one email amongst dozens even hundreds of emails clamoring for attention. I have been a professional writer for 30 years. I can't remember the number of times I found out something was published when I got a check (often 90-120 days after fact or when friend complimented me on the piece - in which case I had to double check my records to make sure I had been paid if it was a paying market.) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Ever think about being a stand-up comedian?
