I have found this to be the case. Look at it this way -- newsletter editors 
are a little different from other business people. Besides that, editors know 
what they're looking for. If you send an article that is right on target, 
most of them will use it within an edition or two. So always send the article.

In my case, I write articles on scamming (you won't believe how much demand 
there is for these articles). Some editors reply with a "mind your own 
business" email. Others seem to write back with a "send more articles", thank 
you note, and use the article in the next edition.

Some editors save the article for two or three weeks before they use it.  
What I do is  keep records of the people I send the articles to and send them 
another one in about a month. It takes very little time to send the article.

One trick I've learned is to subscribe to several (about 25) newsletters and 
send articles to people who are featured in the publication as a guest 
writer. This has gained more success than article announce groups.
