Doug, you brought up many valid points, especially the one that 
pertained to "poorly disguised ads".
Please, to anyone that is just getting their feet wet when it comes
to writing articles for publication and/or swapping with other
ezines, don't embarrass yourself by basing the entire article around 
your own promotional endeavors. 
Articles are meant to educate and inform; you're providing your 
knowledge as a resource, and your resource box is the only
promotional tool you should need. 
And with it you're promoting yourself, your professionalism, and 
building a positive "web presence", things that mean a lot more to an 
aspiring editor/publisher than trying to make a quick buck. I'm not 
saying to disregard advertising, it just doesn't belong within the 
articles you present.
