Dale, I get dozens of article submissions a day - a lot of them for ezines I no longer publish. The only ones I have responded to for at least a couple of years are those that (a) have taken the time to look at the website for the ezine (b) have sent a personal email asking if I were interested in seeing some articles and gave me an idea of what subjects they have written about or would be interested in writing about. It's a common sales approach -- you want to do something where the person on the receiving end is going to say yes - and make that yes as easy as possible - and to also open up the lines of communication. FWIW, I've had personal communications with at least 9 out of 10 authors I've published before I published one word they wrote. Simply sending your articles - even if they are highly targeted - only warrants further communication if the publisher actually wants to run it.
