And people wonder why I refuse to open a list with egroups.

I can't remember who, but another member of THIS list posted recently to us
that he had had the exact same problem. I would say this is NOT due to
egroups' recent server problem, but rather a policy problem, as they
haven't just done it now but have before as well.

I find it absolutely unacceptable.

May I recommend that you:

A) SUBSCRIBE to your own lists using a different email address (if you have
to, use a hotmail account) and right away post to your own lists notifying
all of your subscribers what has happened;

B) ask that they email you privately with their opinion of what you should
do. Surprisingly, many of them may feel you should open a new list
somewhere else. If this is the case, you can reconstruct your list from
these replies. You may not be able to save the list as a whole, but you
may be able to get a lot of them.

C) when you have created your new list you can use the hotmail (or
whatever) account to send new subscription information to the OLD list so
everyone who wants to can move over. Then, in the event that you can not
regain your old list's control, at least you have salvaged as many of them
as WANT to be saved. People who don't make the jump probably would have
unsubbed eventually anyway.

Egroups is having A LOT of problems lately and they better clean up their
act fast or they're going to find themselves in trouble.......

Anyway, that's just MY two cents worth!
