Hi Tina,

You have to fill out an on line form and pay $205.00 for a log of 10
distinct ISBN numbers. ISSN are what a lot of publishers use as a distinct
number for their book, but it really is the same thing as an ISBN.

You can fill out the form by going to http://www.isbn.org/, or if you have
further questions e mail at ISBN-SAN@bowker.com. If you are publishing print
books you'll need an ISBN number, but don't necessarily need one if you are
selling e books. I am an e book publisher, but I went ahead and bought the
ISBN numbers because I place works at other publishers also, and some of
them require an ISBN for cataloging reasons.

Also make sure to copyright your work! You'll need the TX form. Go to
http://www.loc.gov/copyright, and you can print the forms out by computer,
fill them out and send them in. I think it's 30-40 bucks to copyright a
work.
