Cantu says, to elaborate on "Ray S. Whiting"
<rwhiting@bellsouth.net> comments posted previously

For me ezine and newsletter are interchagable in terms
of content but different in means of distribution.

I am a humor columnist for the dirt-world newsletter
"What's Working On Line" published every two weeks by
Georgetown Publishers. It is always 8 pages (size
determined by pages alloted: Eight 8 1/2 X 11 pages)
and distributed via snail mail.

I publish CantuHumor an ezine which run 7-9 pages
determined by content (read depends on how wordy I
feel) and distributed via eGroups.

Other ezines I edit/publish:

CantuJokesWeekly - 21 fresh, topical jokes published
weekly but runs about 5-6 pages depending on editorial
material accompanying jokes. Distributed via eGroups.

CantuHumorStudy (not the same as CantuHumor and why
did I name it CantuHumorStudy? Because, as David
Garfinkle, a brilliant copywriter says in his master
course on copywriting, "Smart people in a hurry act
dumb" - He uses that phrase in explaining why one
needs to write ad copy for a sixth grade reading
level, even if one is writing copy for CEOs and Ph.
d.s)

CHS runs 6-7 pages determined by content (CHS explains
how jokes in CJW were chosen and thus is also weekly)
and is distributed via eGroups.

ComedyClubDiaries is twice a month and run 5-7 pages
and is distributed via eGroups.

All of of my ezines are announcement lists. As Ray
says,

> Announcement Lists, on the other hand, aren't so

Cantu here again:
But, there is also another use of the term
'announcement list'. This refers to lists that allow
ezine publishers and discussion list moderators to
publish info about their ezine/discussion list in an
effort to generate subscribers.

One must subscribe and then one can post info
following protocol of that specific 'Announce list'.

There is a discussion list on eGroups
ListHelp-subscribe@eGroups.com that is for the owners
of lists like this and when you susbcribe you are sent
a list of about a dozen 'Announce Lists' where you can
publicize your ezine/discussion list as a freebie for
joining.
