I signed up to use them after a discussion here on epub and recommendation
from one of the group.

Two weeks and about 10 new people. Not going to bankrupt me or keep them in
coffee.;-)

I had a similar situation this week and emailed them asking them to block
the isp (themail.com) which was obviously creating a reverse spamming.
themail.com members get paid to open and read their email. You don't get
paid to read your email but you do get paid for the email reading of others
you sign up for the service. Sort of a pyramid scheme. So one person signs
up and creates a bunch of other accounts in different names or variations
and then when he opens up the variations, he gets paid for them (but not
his single original account).

The folks at worldwide lists immediately put a block on the address and
credited me with the 4 bad addresses. Fast and efficient on their part and
I told them so. ($.40 is not going to break me but the principle is the
same as yours)

The other addresses I take for the moment. You can't block out all free
lists (although it may come to that eventually) because a lot of people use
them. My kids for example all use the freebies because they constantly move
around. We got email from our oldest girl while she was trecking around
Europe because she could access her mail from any cybernet cafe. But yes,
there's more problems on those free lists than others. (with the possible
exception of webtv and aol);-) The cost of doing business.
