Hi everybody,

I'm amazed at the amount of feedback that List-Tips article
generated. It seems that people either *hate* TheMail.com with
a passion (publishers and server technicians) or are much-offended
that TheMail.com is referred to as a "scheme" (users). In terms
of this autoresponder deal: I didn't include it in the
article I wrote because I'd just heard that TheMail.com would
be closing this loophole. This was confirmed by the CTO today.

This biggest problems techs have with TheMail.com are server-related:

"We segregated our themail.com names on a Lyris Software server.
We can deliver 100,000 per hour on average to our entire file,
except themail.com which delivers closer to 3,500 per hour."

TheMail.com is planning on upgrading their server set-up in
late November:

"When this change is made, our service will increase in speed
by 400%."

I've been accused of heavy-handedness in regards to this issue,
so I just thought I'd pass these tidbits along :-)
