	It depends on the service.

But if you've gone this far, I'd suggest going whole hog and picking up
some more powerful email hosting software. You can brand your domain with
it--rather than having yourezine@freelistserver.com, you can have
yourezine@yourdomain.com. Getting email from a specific domain brands the
ezine as specific to that domain. I know it looks better now that we're
moving to majordomo--but you don't have to go that far. There are other
solutions [Aureate Group Mail among them, though I've not used it] out
there for the asking.

In that vein, I'm *really* surprised that ePub has remained on a free list server, and I'd like to know why. Todd? Brian?

I look at it this way: if you're not willing to spend a little coin on the
ezine to start with, why should I pay attention to you over anyone
else? Anyone can start a list on [insert free server here], but it takes
someone with some chutzpah to toss down the coin to do it "right". It
makes you more authoritative in my mind, and you'll find that a successful
ezine will have to make the shift to a self-hosted or paid-hosting solution
at some point. Might as well be successful from the start!
