Sorry Mike - My work has been published in Readers Digest. They pay their 
authors, and they pay them well, whether it is for original material, 
reprints, excerpts, or digests.
The bottom line is that a writing or a musical composition is the property of 
the author who created it and if anyone uses those works without permission 
they can be sued. In all our 900 pages of content on small ships and 
adventure cruises we have never used one single writing without permission.
