EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread]Re: [epub] Sources of content
The original question was: Is it legal/allowable to reprint an article in its entirity from a print magazine if credit is given to the source magazine, author, issue, etc.? Or would I have to contact the magazine in each case to get permission? HMS wrote: I read, when Readers Digest were declared the largest circulation mag in the world, that they re-wrote a lot of their material taken from previously published sources. My $.02: Yes, but they PAY the original author and/or publication. (And they pay very well.) It is never right to take work owned by someone else and reprint it without permission, even if you credit them.
