Is it common ezine policy to go directly to the company first and ask >for reprint rights (and credit them) or do you just simply credit them? I think you have a lot of people doing things differently online. I don't think there is any problem with analizing data from another publication or service, writing an interpretation of the data, and linking to the source. But I do believe a company has a copyright on their statistical data so you probably have to ask to reuse it. I believe government information and statistical data is another story. I believe you can republish that. Maybe someone else knows more.
