Hi Nancy, > 1. What have your experiences been with using ad swaps to grow your base of > subscribers? I get a better response with articles and one thing you may be missing in your swaps. Nancy, have you tried offering something free to new subscribers? Try this: List your freebie article, ebook or report here to new subscribers. Just mailto:youremailaddyhere Offering something free in exchange for subscribing helps to boost the numbers. It gives people a nudge to try your ezine in exchange for something they can use now. > 2. If you do believe in ad swapping, do you arrange the swaps yourself or >go through a service? I do both. When I have space, I swap with others personally, however, I use a service as well. With the service I am in, the owner, Max Shifrin, allows everyone to let him know what they cannot advertise for. If any of you would like to join his service you can contact him at: mailto:help@funzines.com > The audience for my e-zine is mostly made up of Christians. I know I've seen them. You'll have to dig around in topica.com and egroups for the types of lists that you can swap with. There are thousands of lists in these groups I'm sure you can find many that will work. I like Max's service because he's a great guy to work with. I never place any ads in my ezine I don't like and Max manages to follow my guidelines as well as the many others that are with him. > I have also signed up for Max Shifrin's > AdSwap Service. I got my first "assignments" today and am a little worried > about one of them. Ah, so you know Max. :-) Hm... well if you have any worries Nancy, just email Max and talk to him. He will help you out I'm sure. You may want to write some articles that would appeal to other publishers and start submitting to them.
