Very useful, provided the ezines you are swapping ads with reach a
similar audience to your own.

Although a service makes it simple, the best results can be obtained
from ad swaps on a few hand-picked ezines that complement your
own, or are on topics related to your own. 

On my ezine website, I have an article titled - GET 'EM - that
details the process of setting up joint ventures to gain ezine
subscribers.

> other e-zines that are incompatible or possibly downright offensive to your
> audience?

Most services give you the final choice about running an ad.  If you
feel there isn't a match, you can opt not to run that particular ad.
