Richard,

I would look for discussion boards and chat rooms specific to your focus 
group.  Although some boards prohibit blatant advertising (so be careful not 
to break rules) you could perhaps comment on others posts, and state that you 
have a newsletter that they might be interested in.  Leave an email address 
that they can write to for more information.

I did this a couple of months ago, and I still receive requests for more info 
on my site and ezine.
