EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread]RE: [epub] Getting subscibers
Hi Chris, I believe the longer your message is the less effective it becomes. Most any kind of advertising, particularly e zine advertising, should be short, informative and to the point. I have several I use, but here are two I sometimes use. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- GET YOUR FREE PUBLISHING NEWSLETTER AND ENJOY FREE PROMOTIONS TODAY!!!!! Author articles welcome! Two FREE books when you sign up at emarketplace-subscribe@topica.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ We, at Charm Write Publishing warmly invite you receive publishing news, author and book reviews, tips from the pros, best e markets and free promotional offers and self-promotion markets and more through the FREE Electronic MarketPlace ezine, by sending e mail to emarketplace-subscribe@topica.com. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------- I have several others I also use depending on what market of readers I'm trying to reach. Remember we are dealing with the Internet, and that angry clicking mouse when information becomes too long. I myself might read a few lines of advertisement, but might refrain from reading the topical advertisement format, such as you are using. I simply haven't the time. I was a public relations specialist and editor in the print industry before getting involved in e publishing. Your ad format would be perfect for print, but we are dealing with very short attention spans on the net. They scan information, rather than reading it in detail, unless, of course, they are deeply interested in a subject matter. And I can say I haven't found lists to be all that highly effective in advertising because people are looking to either obtain needed information or are seeking ways to advertise their own product, rather than ingest information about services elsewhere. That doesn't mean it isn't effective in other ways. It lets people know you exist and what you offer. If they see you participating enough and find your information useful they often will visit your website or e mail you personally. It's also a way to make contacts, swap ads, and gain some great information, or possibly even form some partnerships. And word of mouth travels from there ...the best form of advertising that exists, even on the Internet. Hope this helps, Tonyia Young http://www.charmwrite.com (under recontruction) charmwrite@charmwrite.com -----Original Message----- From: kk [mailto:kkkonto@priv5.onet.pl] Sent: Tuesday, January 30, 2001 7:06 PM To: epub@yahoogroups.com Subject: Odp: [epub] Getting subscibers Hello everyone! Thank you (Mari & Tonya) very much for valuable answers. One more thing/question: What kind of advertising of ezine is more effective? The long description of content or rather short mention of topics. log version: scheme---------------- -intro- topic1: - sub-topic11 - sub-topic12 - sub-topic13 topic2: - sub-topic21 - sub-topic22 - sub-topic23 topic3: - sub-topic31 - sub-topic32 - sub-topic33 *This kind of ads I use sometimes on news groups advertising news issue of me ezine. OR RATHER this ads should be short similar to ads in ezines. Any thoughts?
