Equally, if not more, important is the technique of *retaining*
your subscribers, and keeping them *readers*.  Almost any
list of meaningful size has an attrition rate - which the good
ones keep low.  Also there is a proportion of readers who
signed up, don't read your zine any more, but are just too
lazy or disinterested to unsubscribe. 

A good ezine publisher must attempt to keep these groups
down to the  minimum.
